As a third-generation woodworker, Neil started in residential housing at age 12 by pushing a broom on his father’s projects. The joy and reward of transforming spaces and lives remains a career highlight. Neil embodies residential housing as his industry with all its quirks, demands, and imaginative potential.
Kaimee studied Interior Design and Art at The University of Northern Iowa. She quickly fell in love with kitchen design because it mixes detailed space planning with aesthetics. She has worked in the field since 2001. She enjoys creating spaces that customers want to linger in – that perfect space that makes you want to grab an extra cup of coffee and relax, the room your friends and family want to gather in over delicious food and conversation, the kitchen with an energy that makes experiences memorable. She focuses on lifestyles as well as decor when meeting with customers to design a well-tailored space that feels natural, storied, and beautiful. She designs cabinetry throughout the home including kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and wet bars. Recent awards include a MAME award for Best Design Center in our Enchanted Kitchens showroom.
As the artistic child in a large family, it seemed a natural progression for Kathryn to go from Ballroom Dancing to Interior Design. “In any medium, I appreciate clean lines (especially as seen in modern and contemporary designs) and creative expressions!”
Kathryn’s previous degree is in Economics. The circumstances of 2008 changed Kathryn’s leisurely appreciation of wine into a fulltime career. With her experience as a sommelier, and a forever student mindset, she went back to school for Restaurant Design. There she fell in love with Kitchen Design as it combined her artistic strengths with her more calculated background. “Being a Kitchen Designer is more than just picking out attractive finishes. There are numerous NKBA logistics that are meant to help remodelers set up the most efficient use of their space. By following the NKBA guidelines, I give my clients practical layouts and interlace it with style.” She thrives in helping home remodelers bridge color palettes, as well as tailor the style of their new kitchen to their unique spirit.
Through the NKBA, Kathryn holds the AKBD credentials. She plans to sit for the CKBD exam in August 2020.
